How our fees work.
There is no fixed price list. Every quote is tailored to your business, based on the information you give us, and agreed with you before we start. If anything changes or you need work outside your quote, your account manager tells you first and waits for your approval.
How your quote is built
Monthly costs
Ongoing services such as payroll, VAT returns, CIS returns, regular bookkeeping and software subscriptions like Dext are invoiced monthly, or quarterly if you are VAT registered. If these costs are small, we can add them to your year-end invoice instead, to keep things simple.
Annual costs
Work that happens once a year, such as your annual accounts, tax return, confirmation statement and annual bookkeeping, is invoiced once the work is complete.
Even though some work happens once a year, we are not a once-a-year service. You can contact your account manager whenever you need to.
What affects the cost
Your business type
Whether you are a sole trader, landlord, limited company or individual shapes the work you need.
Your turnover
Your turnover places you in a fee band and helps us build a quote that fits your business.
Your bookkeeping
We estimate how much bookkeeping is needed from your records and transactions. Quarterly bookkeeping costs the same as annual bookkeeping, it is just billed through the year.
Payroll and employees
We look at how many employees you have and whether you pay them weekly or monthly.
Directors' personal tax returns
Your quote reflects how many directors need a personal tax return alongside the company accounts.
Other income
Other income to report, such as dividends or bank interest, can affect the work involved.
VAT and Construction Industry Scheme
We check whether you are VAT registered or in the Construction Industry Scheme and include the support you need.
Optional extras
We agree any optional extras with you, such as using our office as your registered office address.

Do I need an accountant?
You do not always have to appoint an accountant, but you do need to understand your responsibilities and keep accurate records. The right support depends on your circumstances and how much you want to handle yourself.
For sole traders, that may mean help with business records, expenses and Self Assessment. For landlords, it may mean reporting rental income and preparing for digital reporting where it applies.
For limited companies, directors remain responsible for accounts, tax returns and Companies House filings. An accountant can help you keep on top of those duties and understand your figures throughout the year.
Invoices are payable within 7 days. For some work, such as backdated returns, we may ask for a payment upfront, and we will always tell you before we begin.
